There are many ways faculty can use blogs for teaching:
- The faculty member maintains a website and the students post comments on the site
- Students have their own websites and under the instructor’s guidance, create and publish content
- Groups of students collaborate on a website
Academic Technologies offers several options for instructors who would like to use blogs as a teaching tool, including blogs integrated into Blackboard. The CU Blog Service provides a supported blogging service to Cornell faculty, staff, and students, and ePortfolios provide another tool for students to create and store content. Blogs for teaching and learning are provided at no charge to faculty or departments.
